The NCAA Gets It Wrong Yet Again

Being wrong all the time really should take a kind of genius but no one would say that about the NCAA.

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Second Round-North Carolina vs Texas A&M
There’s no compelling reason why UNC and South Carolina can’t play an exhibition game to help victims of Hurricane Florence
Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

It’s hard to imagine the NCAA being anything but hide bound and bureaucratic so it’s no surprise that the association vetoed a move by UNC and South Carolina to have an exhibition game to raise money for Hurricane Florence relief.

What’s the big deal? It’s not like they’re going to get a massive advantage from one exhibition and if that was the issue then let the teams blend and play for fun.

It’s frankly offensive and borderline nuts to say no you can’t help your citizens who need it and who might enjoy a bit of distraction too.

Shame on the NCAA - yet again.
