From a Duke-centric point of view, Ferris State is just another exhibition game.
From a Big Rapids point of view though, there’s a national championship team that finished 36-1 and is on a 26-game winning streak.
One of the best players also plays football and will skip Saturday’s game to help the basketball team.
In other words, this is a serious, competent team that’s coming to Cameron not just show up as a sacrificial victim but to compete and to play to win.
Duke should win but could this be Appalachian State-Michigan in reverse? It could be if Duke doesn’t take it seriously. Any team that starts four freshmen, no matter how talented, could get taught a lesson.
