NCAA Basketball: Preseason-Duke at Ryerson University
Aug 15, 2018; Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Duke University forward Zion Williamson (1) shoots for a basket against Ryerson University forward Tanor Ngom (11) in a pre-season exhibition game at Paramount Fine Foods Centre.

Coach K raved about Zion Williamson at Duke’s Media Day Monday and said something we never really expected to hear:

“He’s really a guard. He can handle the ball, he’s one of our best passers, and he can drive the basketball. There’s not a thing that this kid is lacking. He’s already really good, but he’s going to be a very, very special player his whole career — not just at Duke. … I can’t say enough about him.”

Based on what we saw in Canada, all that is true, but how bizarre is it to think of a 6-6, 270 lb. guard?

As we said earlier this summer, incidentally, we assumed that Duke would really work with him on refining his body. He’s lost around 15 pounds which means that he’s going to be really scary.

For opponents anyway.
