We’ve been telling you guys for some time now that the Duke-Kentucky game to open the college basketball season is more important to Kentucky than it is to Duke.

That’s not to diminish that it’s important for Duke but for UK it’s a really big deal. Kentucky fans (and media) have never gotten over 1992 and any chance to take it to Duke is seen as, well, therapeutic.

So they’re pointing to this game like no other. Duke fans, on the other hand and we speak generally, haven’t yet really focused on Kentucky.

Make no mistake though: the atmosphere around Kentucky basketball right now amounts to a dagger pointed directly at Duke.
