The season hasn’t started and it’s entirely likely that Zion Williamson won’t be Duke’s best player - that will likely be RJ Barrett - and might in fact be Duke’s third best player or, by some measures, conceivably even fourth.
However, no matter how good any of his teammates end up being, no one is going to have a cult following like Williamson.
Fully realizing this, Duke released this image on Monday and it’s awesome. We have no idea what the Blue Devils are doing to help Williamson mature physically but he’s changed since high school. He looks like a combination of Herschel Walker in his prime, the Mountain from Game of Thrones and a bully whippet.
He’s already got all the attention in the world. Now all he has to do is be great.
