One of Duke’s key targets is talented young big man Vernon Carey, out of Southwest Ranches, Florida, near Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood and Miami.

He’s 6-9 and 259 already and just 16. He was in the Triangle over Christmas and based on this article, and not just on his abilities, he seems like a classic Duke target.

Doesn’t mean he’ll choose Duke - he could easily choose Miami, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky or UNC - but he fits Duke’s profile pretty well.

He can also look at Wendell Carter as a similarly sized guy who has thrived at Duke.
