Former Duke player Tommy Amaker blows by NC State’s Vinny Del Negro.

Duke’s had brilliant point guards under Coach K - Tyus Jones, Jon Scheyer, Jason Williams, Chris Duhon (they shared the point), Bobby Hurley...but the model for them all was Tommy Amaker.

The N&O has a column up by Ron Morris who looks back at the role Amaker played in building Duke’s basketball juggernaut.

He was pre You-Tube so it’s harder to find good video of Amaker but if you never saw him, you missed a great defender and a calm, composed point guard.
