COLLEGE BASKETBALL: JAN 15 Duke at Miami
CORAL GABLES, FL - JANUARY 15: Duke guard Alex O’Connell (15) plays during a college basketball game between the Duke University Blue Devils and the University of Miami Hurricanes on January 15, 2018 at the Watsco Center, Coral Gables, Florida. Duke defeated Miami 83-75.

Duke basketball will open next season with possibly the biggest opening game ever: Kentucky in the Champions Classic.

The NCAA has moved the start of the season up a bit and the Champions Classic is going to be more or less the default season kickoff.

On the other side will be Michigan State and Kansas.

While we don’t suggest that this means an automatic win, Duke will have an advantage in this game the same way Duke has an advantage in almost every early-season game: the Blue Devils just get a lot more done in the pre-season than anyone else does.
