Well break up the Eagles: Boston College had a win over Florida State that was possibly more impressive than the earlier upset over Duke, winning 81-75 and leading from wire to wire.

Don’t get us wrong - Duke is more highly rated and better regarded than FSU and that win is worth more to BC’s bottom line. But this one was different.

Florida State is highly athletic and deep and their plan was to wear out BC’s guards and then throttle the whole team.

Only it couldn’t.

Not only did Ky Bowman and Jeremy Robinson turn in outstanding games with 19 points each. Bowman also picked up 13 rebounds and five assists. Nik Popovic, who hasn’t always been productive for BC, finished with 14 points, five rebounds, five blocks and three assists.

Steffon Mitchell had 13 points and nine boards and Jordan Chatman had 14.

The starters played 185 out of 200 minutes and Popovic fouled out in 31. You can’t expect that every night but what a game for BC.

Okay! Gambling time: can Clemson finally break The Streak?

This is a really good Clemson team and it is a UNC team with a lot of character but with some flaws too.

Luke Maye has been spectacular for UNC this year but he’ll have to deal with a rugged Clemson front line.

Elijah Thomas has slimmed down and made himself into a force. Mark Donnal comes over from Michigan with considerable experience and David Skara has been helpful too.

Clemson has solid guards too with Marcquise Reed, Shelton Mitchell and Gabe DeVoe have certainly held their own.

But can they do it? Well, you can bet if you’d like. Not us. This is the best chance they’ve had since Matt Doherty destroyed the program though.

Louisville visits Notre Dame also and that’s a particularly fascinating game. The Irish have played brilliantly without Bonzi Colson and Matt Farrell. Meanwhile, Louisville, despite everything that has happened in this most bizarre year, is 3-1 in conference and in pretty good shape. And they should be confident after wins over Florida State and Virginia Tech.

In the nightcap, Pitt plays Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. It’s hard to see how Pitt pulls that one off.

So far, Virginia has been able to stay at home, with the only road game being at Virginia Tech. They’ve been brilliant so far but will it translate to the road?

Coming up: Georgia Tech and Wake on the road followed by Clemson at home then Duke on the road, Louisville at home and Syracuse and Florida State on the road.
