ACC Greatness: A Look Back At David Thompson

He went to State but he belongs to the entire ACC.

We’ve talked at times about our immense respect for NC State great David Thompson, who led the Pack to the 1974 NCAA title and who was, by near universal acclaim, the greatest player in ACC history.

And don’t go Jordan because even Michael says it was Thompson.

Anyway, here’s a really nice video of his career highlights and it’s really the best one we’ve seen.

The guy was just incredible and he is basically the prototype player for the modern game. If you never watched him play, this is kind of like watching Pele or Ali. He was that good, that dominant, that great.
