Manny Bates, a 6-9 kid out of Fayetteville, will attend State in 2018.

Bates chose State over Georgetown primarily but a few other schools were involved. His high school coach lauds his athleticism and his shot blocking skills in the article linked above.

He’ll have plenty of time soon: State’s losing Malik Abdul-Abu and Lennard Freeman to graduation and likely will lose Omer Yurtseven to the NBA as well so there will certainly be minutes available.
