NCAA Basketball: ACC Conference Tournament-Louisville vs Duke
Mar 9, 2017; Brooklyn, NY, USA; Duke Blue Devils guard Luke Kennard (5) celebrates a three point shot against the Louisville Cardinals during the second half of an ACC Conference Tournament game at Barclays Center.

Detroit took former Blue Devil Luke Kennard in the NBA draft understanding that while he was solid on offense, he had work to do on the defensive end.

So they’ve hired former Roy Williams player Rex Walters (at Kansas) to work with him and other young Pistons.

Walters says this about Detroit’s prize rookie:

“[He c]an really flat-out shoot the basketball and likes big moments. Very comfortable in those situations. He didn’t bat an eye. So it’s fun for me. It’s going to be fun to hopefully help him in his development as a pro. It’ll be interesting this year to see how he does. He’s pretty good.”
