Marshall Plumlee, who hustled his way on to the roster of the New York Knicks after his senior season at Duke, was waived Saturday as the Knicks cleared up roster space for free agent Tim Hardaway Jr.

After he was waived, Plumlee had this to say: “It’s a business. The feeling doesn’t sink in until it happens to you. Phil is someone I cherish our relationship. I felt I learned a lot from him. I felt he believed in me. I’m forever grateful for Phil Jackson. I really enjoyed playing and learning from him.”
