Barry Jacobs has a piece up on Duke’s trip to the Dominican Republic, or more accurately, what teams hope to get out of trips like that.

Typically, coaches take young teams so they can get some experience and a leg-up on bonding and finding roles and that’s what Duke is after too.

It also gives coaches a chance to see young players against significantly older players and to see where they stand in terms of skills and strength.
