At the age of 33, with his NBA career winding down, fortune and the higher NBA salary cap smiled on Duke great JJ Redick, who has signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia for $23 million dollars.

And he’ll most likely be a bench player.

It must be mind-boggling for guys like Bill Russell, who finished his career making $100,00, or Julius Erving, who made $1,485,00 in 1985-86.

Anyway, congratulations to JJ. He’s had a long and successful career and it’s nice to see him make some serious money near the end.
