Here’s an update on Nashville’s Darius Garland with the point guard discussing his three top choices, Duke, Vanderbilt and Indiana with some really interesting stuff about Duke’s strategy.
He talks here about how the schools are recruiting him. Here’s what he said about Duke: “Coach K wants to get [Tre Jones and me] because he thinks a lot of the guys will be gone next year. So they need an intelligent 2018 class, and me and Tre have been talking about it a lot.”
That reminds us of the Jason Williams-Chris Duhon backcourt which worked out pretty well and also the Tyus Jones-Quinn Cook backcourt which also celebrated at the end of the season.
Speaking of Jones, he’s playing well this summer. We wouldn’t read a whole lot into this but the writer here says “Jones is considered practically a lock to play at Duke.“
This Maryland site says it’s looking like Duke too.
