It’s free agent season and that means different things for different people.

For former Blue Devil Gerald Henderson, it means getting waived by his hometown Sixers.

Henderson had an $18 million dollar deal and Philly is in the middle of a major rebuild. With Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz on the roster, Henderson is expendable - and waiving him helps the salary cap as well.

At 29 and a true professional, Henderson’s career is not over, but it will continue somewhere else where he’ll most likely prove a valuable veteran.
