So Who’s Going To Be A Duke Captain This Season?

It’s a tricky question the farther you are from Cameron.

This is something we’ve wondered about too: will Grayson Allen be a captain this year?

By normal Duke standards he should be, but he was unreliable last season because he failed to control his emotions during the Elon game and reliability is pretty important.

Then again after that happened if you’ll remember, rather than putting him completely in the doghouse Coach K said, somewhat enigmatically, “I’m responsible for that kid.”

No one outside the program really knew what happened or why it happened or why it was handled the way it was handled but our gut feeling was that there was more than met the eye and given his long track record at Duke, Mike Krzyzewski does not coddle players or indulge bad behavior.

The question is, if Grayson’s not a captain, who is? This is such a young team that it’s nearly impossible to know who to pick. The next most experienced guy is Antonio Vrankovic and his playing time has been very limited.
