Over at TSN, Sam Vecenie looks at some EBYL play and has some opinions on several players including Duke targets including Marvin Bagley III, Cameron Reddish and Tre Jones.

He sees Bagley as the best player in high school, Reddish as needing to play with consistent intensity (we know a coach in Durham who could help with that and says that Jones looks like his brother Tyus on the court.

One other guy we’re following is Bol Bol, son of Manute. He’s a shorty compared to his late dad - a mere 7-2 so far - but his game is light years beyond Manute’s.

Of course, as we learned towards the end of his life, measuring Manute by basketball was a gross disservice.

He first became famous for his height and his killing a lion with a spear back home in Sudan.

He typically said it was no big deal, that the lion was asleep, but come on: you try killing a 3-400 lb. animal with a stick. It’s not like it didn’t wake up when he stuck it.

Then what do you do with that on the other end of your spear? That took immense courage.

Bol had that in buckets. When you read about his life - and we encourage you to - his absolute commitment to his people is breathtaking. He basically gave all the money he earned, then his health and ultimately his life.

If his son has even a small bit of what his dad had, he’ll be a remarkable man someday.
