High School Basketball: McDonald's All-American Portraits
Mar 26, 2017; Chicago, IL, USA; McDonalds High School All-American center Mohamed Bamba (11) poses for a photo during the 2017 McDonalds All American Game Portrait Day at Chicago Marriott.
Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Mohamed Bamba, a highly promising 6-11 center, has opted for Texas over Duke and Kentucky.

Bamba is potentially a game changer on defense and is a game changer for Texas regardless.

Shaka Smart has long run his Havoc defense but never with a great shotblocker behind it. Bamba will probably be at Texas for just one year, but we may see the closest thing to Patrick Ewing’s Georgetown (as a player that is) since the big man ruled the lane in the 1980s.

Bamba is long - unbelievably long. Texas will overplay on defense and channel guys down towards him. It’s going to be interesting to watch.
