Two of the survivors of the recent ESPN purge, Fran Fraschilla and Jeff Goodman, took a look at a number of players who are in the draft including Duke’s Frank Jackson.

They differ to an extent on what he will or should do. Goodman says his NBA contacts feel he should come back for at least another year while Fraschilla thinks the competition at Duke will chase him away.

Well first we agree with Goodman. Our guru in this regard was Marty Blake. Whenever anyone asked him about anyone at all, he always said more time in college would help.

In Jackson’s case, he’s a gifted athlete but he needs to refine his skills to stick. And even Fraschilla, who argues for him to come out, sees him as spending a few years in the D-League.

Its a path, but it’s not an easy one.
