Coach K is coming back to Cameron for the Pitt game, but that won’t be the only special moment.

Also attending: Duke legend Dick Groat.

For those who don’t know, Groat went on to a tremendous baseball career with the Pirates and has been doing color for the Pitt radio network forever.

He’s 86 now and when Pitt came last time Groat couldn’t because he had a concussion.

So this is his first trip with the team. He should get a big welcome - at 86, odds are he won't be working all that much longer.

But make no mistake. Groat loves Duke, but he’s pulling for Pitt, just like he has since he was a little kid.

A couple of cool notes from this article. When Groat showed up at Duke in the late ‘40s, Cameron was still shiny and new. And Groat only switched from a two-handed set shot to a modern jump shot between his sophomore and junior years.

And one other thing: he was signed as a pirate by Branch Rickey.
