This is a bit surprising to say the least.

Although anyone can understand the lure of great wealth, our feeling has always been that people who get a fine education have something that cannot be purchased no matter how much money you have.

That kind of came back to us this weekend when it came out that Kyrie Irving believes the earth is flat.

We’ve always admired Irving - he seems like a really good guy and he’s an amazing talent and clearly bright - but where the hell did this come from? Did he sit on some paper classes at UNC?

It’s a bit jarring to hear that anyone today actually believes this. We hope he’s pulling everyone’s leg. When he gets back to summer school at Duke, we recommend taking some science classes.

In case anyone else has questions, here are some resources to put your mind at ease but if you want just a quick, simple answer, try this: people have orbited the earth and no one has yet come down and said that it has sharp sides and a flat bottom.
