Since taking the Northwestern job, former Duke star and assistant Chris Collins has done the college basketball equivalent of a miracle: he’s taken what’s arguably the worst program in the history of college basketball and made it highly competitive.

A lot of people, including us, thought he might be making a major mistake. Northwestern, a solid basketball program? Get real.

Well he made it real. Northwestern is still on the rise and for the first time ever, the Wildcats made the preseason Top 25. Around here, that’s nothing. In Evanston, that’s incredible.
