Okay this is mostly about Clemson’s chances, which are surprisingly good.

Among the crowd for Duke’s Countdown to Craziness Saturday was high school sensation Zion Williamson.

A freakish athlete, Williamson has the normal suitors - Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC and UCLA, but the local schools, South Carolina and Clemson, are both still in the running for the Spartanburg native.

And as we have mentioned before, his mother is reportedly keen on keeping him close to home, so that works to Clemson’s advantage. Clemson is slightly closer than Columbia but not enough to make much difference.

Greenville Online makes a pitch for him to stay home and the Independent Mail lists some reasons why he might choose Clemson, without mentioning South Carolina at all.

If he doesn’t pick Duke, we’d love to see him pick the Tigers.
