NBA: Preseason-Boston Celtics at Charlotte Hornets
Oct 11, 2017; Charlotte, NC, USA; Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (0) goes up to dunk the ball in the second half against the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center.

In his second NBA start, and first following Gordon Hayward’s ugly injury former Duke star Jayson Tatum finished with eight points (3-7) and nine rebounds in a losing effort to Milwaukee.

Kyrie Irving, trying to pick up some of the slack after Hayward’s injury, finished with 17 points on 7-25 from the floor.

As for Hayward, good news: despite the horrific appearance of his injury he has had successful surgery and is expected to make a full recovery by next season.

In other Duke-NBA news, Detroit played but Luke Kennard didn’t get in the game.
