Five-star recruit Emmit Williams, who has recently gotten some attention from Duke, was arrested Wednesday and charged with felony sexual battery and false imprisonment.

The alleged victim makes some very specific accusations. According to NBC Sports:

“She wanted to leave her home to pick up a friend, but Williams would not let her leave. Williams began touching her, she said, despite the fact that she told Williams she was not interested in sex. Williams ignored that, pulled down her pants and raped her while her attempts to stop him were unsuccessful, she said.”

Basketball will have to take a back seat while this goes through the courts and sadly, in recent times we’ve both accusers and victims taken for some awful rides through the legal system.

All anyone can hope is that justice is fully and fairly served, wherever that leads.
