In Wednesday’s scandal news, Rick Pitino is suing Adidas for damaging his reputation.

This from the guy who got in trouble at Hawaii, who pressed charges against a woman who extorted him because she fell pregnant and who testified in open court about his fifteen seconds of after-hours glory in a Louisville restaurant, and a guy whose program is barely past a scandal involving teenage recruits and a middle age hooker.

However, he clearly thinks this will help clear him, so more power to him.

Here’s an outstanding profile of Christian Dawkins, one of the guys at the heart of the FBI’s case. Is he flippable? Read it and see what you think.

In his texts with Pitino, Dawkins claimed credit for steering Jaylen Johnson to the Cardinals, something that Pitino didn’t contest in that exchange.

His mother says that Johnson got no help and that when she came to Louisville with him, she didn't have much either: “When I first came here, I waited tables,” said Janetta Johnson, told the Courier-Journal. “... I barely had any money. … I barely have bought myself new clothes, new nothing. I have struggled since I’ve been here. And nobody gave me nothing.”

And according to this report, Louisville will fire Tom Jurich Wednesday morning.

Closer to home, Duke, UNC and State are reacting to the burgeoning scandal by checking and double checking procedures and compliance.
