Duke Recruiting: Tre Jones Update

Yes, his big brother is Tyus, and yes like Tyus Tre is considered the best PG in the country, but Tre is on his own journey.

After the Plumlees finished at Duke, we didn't really expect to see any more brothers come through Durham for a while.

It’s pretty rare really. The Grants went to Clemson before Harvey transferred (Horace finished a Tiger) and back in the day (we think) five Mahaffeys played ball there.

State had the Martin twins, Cody and Caleb, who transferred to Nevada. Maryland had Derrick and Cedric Lewis.

Really though it’s not something you see that often and it’s even more unusual when they’re all pretty good like the Plumlees were.
So it’s pretty cool that Tre Jones will follow Tyus to Duke.

Tyus was considered the best point guard in the country and proved it, leading Duke to the 2015 national championship.

And now Tre is too: he’ll come to Duke, like Tyus, regarded as the best high school point guard in the land.

And it’s not by accident or default. He wanted it and worked for it and earned it. He’s going to be fun to watch in Durham.
