NCAA Basketball: Wake Forest at Duke
Feb 18, 2017; Durham, NC, USA; Duke Blue Devils associate head coach Jeff Capel III escorts his father Jeff Capel Jr. off the court after Duke beat the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 99-94 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Jeff Capel Jr. has been diagnosed with ALS and sat on the bench with his son for the game.

As you guys know, Jeff Capel’s dad, Jeff Jr., has been diagnosed with ALS, aka Lou Gehrig’s disease, which is almost always terminal (Stephen Hawking, unusual in so many ways, is arguably the exception).

And as you probably also know he has a strong connection to Fayetteville. So it’s nice to see Fayetteville State stepping up to help Coach Capel out: they are hosting a basketball camp to raise money for the Jeff Capel Jr. ALS Fund.

All proceeds from the camp will go to research. And you don’t have to go to the camp to chip in - you can just just hit this link.
