Two interesting games on tap in the ACC Tuesday night as 0-1 UNC visits a dangerous Clemson team while 0-2 Wake Forest hosts BC after what’s probably the best that team has played in a long time.

Start with the win over Auburn. Not a big deal to Duke or UNC, but for BC? In the Garden?

Huge.

Sacred Heart is no big deal although we watched that game and thought it was a solid team, better than a lot of people might think.

There was a relapse against Fairfield followed by a 12 point win over Providence and then this weekend’s destruction of Syracuse.

BC has a nice trio of offensive threats in Jerome Robinson, Ky Bowman and AJ Turner.

Turner went down very late in the Syracuse game but we haven’t seen anything to suggest it was serious.

Connor Tava has fit right in as a grad transfer and has proven to be a good distributor. Nik Popovic is a promising young big man and Mo Jeffers has given the team a strong presence in the paint. He’ll never score much but he’s powerful and tough.

Even though the Orange was partly to blame, we really admired what BC did against Syracuse and not least of all the passing. This team made some absolutely gorgeous, take away your breath passes.

Down in Winston, the Deacons are pissed. Danny Manning says practice has been chippy, as it should be when you blow four games in the closing minutes.

This is still a young team though, and things don't gel overnight. So while this is a really crucial game, and should be very intense, Wake still has time to get it together.

The Deacs just need to be more, well...possessed. You know, Demonish.

Meanwhile, after running into a shocking buzz saw in Atlanta, UNC will head south again to face Clemson in the sparking new LIttlejohn.

That’s a really interesting game - Clemson is not bad and they have a history of laying in wait for the best ACC teams. Football is happy and the fans will be ready. Will the Tigers?

For that matter, will UNC? Virginia Tech jumped all over Duke, but we understood that was possible. We did not think Georgia Tech could possibly do it to UNC. Like Syracuse at BC, UNC even had the crowd! On the road!

You can’t ask for better than that.

Still didn’t matter.

Don’t expect the Heels to come out flat again but also remember: Clemson is much, much better than the Yellow Jackets.
