There’s a bottom now and Clemson and Pitt are it at the moment.

With the ACC race starting to show signs of separation into about four tiers, roughly speaking, each game becomes more important.

This Saturday we see UNC visiting occasional nemesis BC (these teams have had some memorable games, including last year’s near upset by Boston College). It would be a major upset if BC pulled this one off, but the Eagles have a very dangerous backcourt that can keep them in any game.

Syracuse visits Notre Dame where we’d expect the three pointer will be a decisive weapon for the Irish.

The best game might be Florida State at Louisville. Normally we’d pick Louisville almost atavistically. The Cards are basketball and FSU is not.

Well that’s not the case this year. Florida State has a tremendous team. Their size and athleticism should give Louisville fits.

Wake and NC State should be really interesting too. Both teams are talented and trying to find a path forward. We’re not even sure who should be favored but it should be fun to watch, not least of all seeing Omer Yurtseven and John Collins doing battle inside.

Georgia Tech has played way beyond expectations, but we don’t think they can win at Virginia. The offense is dodgy enough but trying to score against the ‘Hoos is never easy. And though Tech has been solid defensively, we don’t think they can stop Virginia.
