One of the first things we realized about David Cutcliffe is that while he comes across like a grandfatherly figure, he doesn’t put up with much.

If you do the things you're supposed to do, and make a serious commitment, life is good.

If not?

Well, then like Brandon Boyce and Philip Carter, you may find yourself suspended.

Just why the two defenders (Boyce is a tackle and Carter a safety) were suspended for three games isn’t clear, but Cutcliffe runs a disciplined team which is great. In fact, Duke would never have accomplished what it has if he didn’t.

Here’s hoping they learn from the experience.
