The Lakers formally introduced Brandon Ingram on Wednesday, and there's a bit of smart news from the Ingram family included.
First his dad, Donald, understood early the flaws in the way players develop these days - he calls it "the AND1" mentality - and trained him to avoid it.
And secondly, as we alluded to recently, being a very wealthy young man in L.A. is a risky situation for anyone.
Understanding this, the Ingrams have arranged for Brandon's older brother, Bo, to look after him.
Donald Ingram: "We’re from the East Coast, and he’ll be 19 years old. We want to make sure he has somebody with him, and he’s living as close to the facility as possible. It’s a big concern, and that, to me, is more of a concern than his ability to make an impact with the Lakers."
