Duke’s been on a great recruiting roll lately but it won’t include Oklahoma’s Trae Young: the outstanding point guard cut his list to six and Duke is out.
His final six are Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Washington and his hometown Sooners.
Duke aside, it’s an interesting situation. He’s a Big 12 kid geographically and earlier he was a ballboy for Oklahoma. But he’s also talked often of going to school with Michael Porter, who is now committed to Washington where his dad is a newly minted assistant. Kansas is a powerhouse and Bill Self is a tremendous recruiter. And of course Kentucky is always tough to beat out. From here, Texas Tech and OSU seem like long shots but they both have dynamic young coaches.
This one, in short, should be fun.
