One of the real good guys in Triangle sports has been Tom Suiter. He retired from his full-time gig as WRAL's sports anchor in 2008 but stuck around to do Football Friday and Extra Effort Award.

He's giving those up now too, which means he'll be completely off the air for the first time since 1971.

Suiter is an unbelievably decent person. Anyone who ever met him would say the same thing.

It's hard to imagine Triangle sports without him. He'll be greatly missed.
