Here are a few ACC notes to ponder.

Josh Pastner was a surprise choice to replace Brian Gregory at Georgia Tech. Whatever else you can say about him, you can't fault his energy.

His great strength is recruiting and there's absolutely no reason why Tech shouldn't dominate the state of Georgia when it comes to basketball. And Georgia talent has been off the charts for some time now. You don't necessarily want Baylor as a role model, but that team, poorly coached as it is, has enough talent to overcome coaching on a fairly regular basis.

Jay Bilas likes Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku's odds in the draft, pegging him as a second-rounder.

Speaking of Louisville, John Calipari tried to get under Rick Pitino's skin recently. He had some success in that effort.

In Raleigh, Mark Gottfried's remarkable summer overhaul is getting props.
