Johnny Dawkins is a widely respected coach. He was in many ways a great fit at Stanford, but Stanford has one particular problem that is hard to overcome and that's a very high admissions bar.

On Tuesday, Dawkins accepted the job at Central Florida where he won't have that problem.
Saying that Central Florida isn't Stanford academically isn't an insult. We'll be interested to see what Dawkins can do when he can compete for recruits. He did pretty well even with Stanford's admissions.
UCF is in the AAC, so that means he'll tangle with SMU, UConn, Memphis and Cincinnati - some solid opponents, to be sure.
Incidentally, his new A.D. is Danny White, son of Duke A.D.
