BC is the outlier of course and lost to Florida State 88-66 to finish ACC play at 0-19.

But State and Wake had a taut battle Tuesday, then Duke and State had another Wednesday. State beat Wake by three and lost to Duke by three.

Pitt nipped Syracuse by one, 72-71, and in the evening, Georgia Tech came back from 18 down to beat Clemson in overtime, 88-85.

And in Wednesday's night cap, Virginia Tech put on a mostly brilliant display of basketball against young but talented Florida State, winning 96-85.

The Hokies didn't close out very well but make no mistake - for a good bit of that game, Virginia Tech was playing championship level basketball. They were really good.

During tournaments, we find it hard to do game day previews on a quick turnaround, so we don't really have a lot to give you right now on Notre Dame vs. Duke.

However, we can say this: Duke hit an emotional high against NC State, thanks largely to the huge effort of Marshall Plumlee. And we're sure Duke is getting tired of losing to Notre Dame.

The question is fatigue and foul trouble and (again) injuries. Aside from Plumlee's nose, Brandon Ingram hurt his ankle. He kept playing, but none of us know how he felt when he woke up this morning.

We can't know how much Duke has in the tank, but we certainly know how much heart this team has, with Plumlee the latest to demonstrate it.

Duke will give all. However much that is.
