In Tuesday night's ACC play, Clemson hosts Virginia and don't be at all surprised if the emotions of Senior Night lead Clemson to an upset. Remember, UVA only won by seven at home in January.

These teams have similar styles but Clemson is probably more physical.

Well, not probably. They are.

It would be an interesting late wrench in the gears if the Tigers pull it off.

Can Georgia Tech continue its hot streak? Won't be easy at Louisville. The season is down to two games for the self-banned Cardinals and this is Senior Night for them too. It'll take a great game by the Yellow Jackets to pull off an upset.

After this, the Cards go to Virginia. The Cavs have to beat both Clemson and Louisville and hope that Duke can knock off UNC a second time. That combination would give them a share of first place.

On Monday night, UNC knocked off Syracuse on their Senior Night, and one of the key plays was made by senior Marcus Paige, who got the ball to Isaiah Hicks for a crucial last basket.

Paige has always been a likeable guy but unfortunately for him and UNC, his career hasn't gotten back on track last year or this. We certainly don't pull for UNC, but we do at times admire some of their players and Paige is one of those.

When he played, we also admired Sean May. Since then? Not so much.

He was one of the key figures in the UNC scandal, an AFAM major who publicly praised the independent study classes (aka paper classes), telling the Indianapolis Star that he dropped a double major, communications and focused on AFAM because it offered  "more independent electives, independent study. I could take a lot of classes during the season. Communications, I had to be there in the actual classroom. We just made sure all the classes I had to take, I could take during the summer."

We know that several players (including starters) on May's team were AFAM majors. We know that they were AFAM majors during the time when AFAM was offering fake classes.

You don't have to be really clever to ask: what about May? Did he cheat? Were those independent study classes some of the fakes?

In other words, despite the platitudes, did UNC verify that May earned all of his grades before hiring him? Because if the university didn't vet that particular hire, it just shows more contempt for what most of us would expect. UNC-Las Vegas indeed.

It would also, we expect, be against school rules. Most universities require coaches to be college graduates.
