That looks like the first time we’ll see Harry Giles play for Duke and that changes things because Giles is really talented.
How talented? He gets compared to Chris Webber, and Webber was a stunning talent. If Giles is anywhere in this zip code, it’s going to be amazing.
Duke is moving from a team with serious depth problems to one with more the opposite difficulty: finding minutes for everyone.
Coach K doesn’t think it’ll be a problem: “They like each other. When they were all healthy in practice that’s all they did. They just made plays for one another and we haven’t been able to do that completely, but you can see signs of it...They’ll all fit in. They’ll all respond. They’re all good kids and they’re all about winning.”
Al Featherston wrote an article for DBR recently about how Coach K builds teams. This one is going to be unique because he’s adding in three superb players even while he deals with a lingering injury for Grayson Allen.
Fortunately, there’s no one better in the business at building teams than Mike Krzyzewski. Things are about to get really interesting.
