Coach K Publishes An Open Letter To Jim Valvano

At least outside of Dukedom, Coach K has a reputation as a villain and people don’t always see the guy behind the no-nonsense public personality, which is too bad. There is a wry sense of humor, a delight in needling people playfully and a guy who is dedicated to family and friends.

Among those friends we should count the late Jimmy Valvano. Duke plays Florida in New York Tuesday night in the latest installment of the Jimmy V Classic.

For the occasion, Coach K has published an open letter to his old friend which is pretty moving. You should definitely check it out.
