Everyone is taking Thursday and Friday off with conference play starting in earnest on Saturday.

We’ll take a closer look tomorrow, but for now, some quick hits:

  • It’s only the second game of the ACC season but for Wake it’s already critical. The Deacs need to beat Clemson. Lose and they lose ground in the conference and for the post-season. Clemson is probably mentally tougher so this won’t be easy.
  • Louisville has a non-conference game with Indiana. It’s on a neutral court in Indianapolis, which is neutral like Charlotte is neutral for UNC. Not an easy game but also very important.
  • We said the other day that FSU was off to its best start ever. Teach us not to check - it’s a really good start but not the best. Playing at UVA is never easy so well learn a lot about both teams.
  • UNC should just beat the snot out of Georgia Tech. Welcome Josh Pastner.
  • Notre Dame and Pitt could be the most fun offensive game of the day.
  • State-Miami is also one to watch. Both those schools are trying to move up and both are capable. We’ll also learn more about Omer Yurtseven and Dennis Smith, both of whom appear to be immensely promising.
