K On Grayson

With the Grayson Allen situation still expanding Friday, Coach K went on Dan Patrick’s show to discuss it. As Al Featherston suggested, this is now less about discipline - although that’s hugely significant - than it is about making sure the kid is okay. Here are some terms he used in his conversation with Patrick:

Looked like a ghost...distraught...very concerning...deeply affected him...getting better...helping...getting on the right right road...in constant touch with Grayson making sure he is okay...first take responsibility then help guide them to resolve issue and make sure it doesn’t happen again...

It’s still not clear to any of us (other than perhaps some trained professionals who could make a solid educated guess) what exactly Grayson is dealing with now but it’s deeply personal, probably not easy, and he’s doing it on a big stage while a mob is screaming for his head.

We realize he’s an easy target but we’d like to ask non-Duke fans to show a little restraint online. This is no longer about basketball.
