Two ACC suspensions to report: first, Virginia has suspended Austin Nichols from pretty much everything for the next two weeks: no scrimmages, no practices, exhibition games and the regular season opener against UNC-Greensboro.

Just the other day, Nichols, who was once a serious Duke target, was talking about how ready he was to play. Looks like he’ll have to wait a bit longer. The only reason given was the traditional "violation of team rules."

Here’s a look at Pitt as things stand in Kevin Stallings’ first season with the Panthers.

Whatever happens there, he’ll probably have a better year than new Georgia Tech coach Josh Partner. He has a nice fixer-upper, but it does need a lot of work. Some of the other ACC coaches tried to let him know what he’s up against.

Louisville lost some good players but the Cards are banking on sophomores Deng Adel, Ray Spalding and Donovan Mitchell. Junior Jaylen Johnson said this: "Deng and Donovan, man - they're two great players. They put the work in every day. They just have a hunger. They are ready to go."
