Norlander Ranks Everybody

Over at CBSSports.com Matt Norlander ranks the country 1-351.

To end the suspense, he has Duke at #1 and Chicago State at #351.

ACC wise, he has UNC at #6 and Virginia at #8. Louisville is pegged at #16, Syracuse at #21, Miami at #27, FSU and NC State at #31 and #32 respectively.

He puts Pitt at #36, Virginia Tech at #48, Notre Dame way down at #52 and Clemson at #62.

Wake Forest (#101), Boston College (196) and Georgia Tech at #218 bring up the rear.

For what it’s worth, people don’t seem to understand what Danny Manning is putting together at Wake Forest. He has the core of a terrific team. It just needs experience.

Other schools of note:

  • #10 - UCLA - Heat is on Steve Alford. A good season would really help.
  • #29 - Dayton - Archie Manning won’t have a key player but he’s got his program rolling.
  • #42 - Maryland - Pretty sharp fall if it happens. Will Mark Turgeon get heat from the fans?
  • #49 - Marquette - Wojo loses Henry Ellenson but continues to build.
  • #67 - Harvard - Tommy Amaker will bounce back from last season.
  • #71- Davidson - Bob McKillop is Bob McKillop which means Davidson won’t be easy.
  • #86 - Northwestern - Like Wojo, Chris Collins continues to get better players. It’ll pay off.
  • #110 - Central Florida - Johnny Dawkins starts over and won’t have to deal with Stanford academics. And he has 7-6 Tacko Fall, the world’s tallest nerd.
