Duke’s Saturday Basketball Practice Showed Potential

Football wasn’t much fun Saturday but Duke fans had some compensation with an open basketball practice.

Both Grayson Allen and Harry Giles sat out - both are recuperating from injuries - with Allen riding a stationary bike instead (Allen did practice Friday).

Sean Obi, who had knee surgery over the summer, also sat out.

Amile Jefferson, who missed most of last season with a foot injury, looked really good, but the Fayetteville Observer’s Stephen Schramm said he looked stiff towards the end.

However, he also showed improved perimeter skills.

Among the freshmen, Marques Bolden showed enough to ease worries about Giles somewhat. Jayson Tatum was elegant as advertised and Frank Jackson brought some intensity to the court.
