As Mason Plumlee might have said, that was a man's game.

Monday was a great day for ACC basketball. We saw individual greatness from Brice Johnson, who did something no one in the long and storied tradition of UNC basketball has never done, scoring a 30/20 game, finishing with 39 points, 23 rebounds, three steals and three blocks.

That's a statline you could've seen from Len Bias or Tim Duncan. Maybe Rodney Rogers. It was just remarkable, and more so since he shot nearly 90%.

He really overshadowed a great game by Marcus Paige, who finished with 30 points of his own.

As good as both of them were, the guy with the most offensive potential in this game may end up being Dwayne Bacon, who shot just 6-18 but who showed immense potential as a scorer. He's fluid and has instincts. He's going to be terrific.

Last night belonged to Johnson, though, as he put up one of the great games in ACC history.

Meanwhile, in Blacksburg, despite having several players out with injuries, Virginia Tech pulled off one of the great upsets in recent years.

It was a thrilling game down the stretch as Virginia Tech played brilliantly yet Virgina mounted a comeback to cut the lead to just 69-68 with 0:08 left.

London Perrantes came down and drove, but Tech blocked it - and got the foul call. Shane Henry missed both but it didn't matter.

This was legitimately a great upset, as good as any we've seen in recent years. Virginia Tech was just brilliant.

Can Tuesday's game match it?

Clemson visits a vulnerable Syracuse and yes, it could be another upset. Well, Syracuse is not playing very well, but it's still Syracuse and it's at Syracuse, so it's a tough road trip for Clemson.
