UNC handled Wake Forest in a game where both teams combined to shoot 5-36 from three point range and neither topped 41% from the floor.

UNC had a couple of brilliant streaks which basically gave them separation.

Not that it matters. The Tar Heels are the class of the conference so far and have avoided the upset bug which has hit everyone else.

Brice Johnson had 27 for UNC and shot 8-12. Kennedy Meeks was 4-9. Marcus Paige's slump continues as he shot 1-8.

UNC had huge advantages from the line - 23-34 to Wake's 12-20 - and in turnovers UNC had 10 to Wake's 19. Devin Thomas finished with 17 points and nine rebounds...and seven turnovers. Ouch.

Ol' Roy Williams was not very happy with his team. And despite the loss, Wake's Danny Manning says UNC can be had.

Virginia Tech pushed Notre Dame to the limit before losing by two. Zach Auguste had 22 points and 15 boards and won praise from Mike Brey for his leadership.

Zach LeDay finished with 22 for the Hokies. Seth Allen missed a game winner at the buzzer. Virginia Tech put four starters in double figures and just missed  fifth.

Keep in mind that this team has really been hammered by injuries. It's a very impressive performance to date.

Louisville hammered FSU, at one point leading by 29.

Louisville got 57 touches in the paint, which Rick Pitino thinks is a team record.

It's another bit of education for a team that, really, is highly talented and very dangerous. It's just young. It wouldn't surprise us at all if FSU ended up in the NCAA field and made a surprising run.

But keep an eye on Louisville. That was a solid performance. The Cards are alone in second place, incidentally.

Miami beat BC, no great surprise although we do expect BC will a) continue to play hard and b) improve, even if the record doesn't reflect it, because this is a well-coached team. It's just very young and raw outside of a couple of players.

Tonye Jekiri grabbed 17 rebounds. He's very close to averaging 10 boards for two years and that will get you a job after your college career is done. It may not be in the NBA, but if he wants to keep playing, everyone can use a good rebounder.

BC shot just 37.5%. Jerome Robinson had 20 points while Eli Carter had 12. No one else got more than six.
