No great surprise at this point - #13 Virginia went to Florida State and lost. It was Virginia's third straight road loss.

With the loss, Virginia falls to 2-3 in the conference and 9th place - 10th since FSU owns the tiebreaker.

Remarkably, Virginia is looking up at rival Virginia Tech in 4th place and Clemson in 2nd place.

It's just remarkable.

Florida State shot 63% against Virginia in the second half - unthinkable last year or the year before.

What can you say? It's an upside-down year in some ways. Take Clemson.

How the heck are the Tigers doing this? Things have changed quite a bit.

Brownell says Jordan Roper and Jaron Blossomgame have been the difference makers.

For Virginia Tech, another big surprise in conference play, progress is ahead of schedule thanks to Buzz Williams, who is doing a tremendous job.

At this point, Willliams and Brownell are bound to be the leading candidates for ACC Coach Of The Year.

On Monday Duke and Syracuse are the only game but on Tuesday State and Pitt tangle and Clemson and Virginia go at it.

The latter game should be really intense. We're giving up on any expectations.
